Ryggsekk AKEVITT

 
 

We’ve made a hiking trip friendly akevitt. The bottle is 35 cl, made of recyclable plastic and shaped like a pocket lark.

 
 

Ryggsekk Akevitt has matured for a minimum of 18 months in bourbon barrels. The recipe itself contains 20 botanicals native to Norway. Most of them are disilled together before maturing, but we also add some barrel aged macerated botanicals, like bog myrtle from the forrest of Oslo. We added a bit of Norwegian honey to sweeten it a bit.

It’s an akevitt that can be enjoyed by itself around the bonfire or paired with cured meat, grilled food, stews or game. The subtle herbal notes is backed with complexity from the barrels and balanced with a hint of sweetness from the honey.

Aroma - Oak and forrest with aromatic botanicals as carraway, bog myrtle, flowers and herbs.

Taste - Warming spices and herbs. Lightly honney like, with hints of flowers and heater. Lingering finish of oak and toffee.
